About Us
Check Electric LLC is a growing commercial electrical contractor specializing in large-scale commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and multifamily construction projects throughout SW Florida. We are currently staffing for a major ground-up luxury hotel project and are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Manager to oversee all material procurement, warehouse inventory, and jobsite logistics.
This is a key leadership position that will directly impact project success by ensuring materials are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and tracked efficiently from purchase through installation.
Position Summary
The Purchasing & Inventory Manager will be responsible for all purchasing activities for our commercial projects while managing inventory levels within our warehouse. This individual will work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, vendors, and company leadership to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining cost control and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Purchase electrical materials, equipment, and tools for commercial construction projects.
- Solicit and compare pricing from multiple suppliers to obtain the best value.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and national electrical distributors.
- Track material lead times and proactively communicate potential delays.
- Coordinate deliveries to jobsites according to project schedules.
- Manage warehouse inventory levels and replenish stock items.
- Develop and maintain an organized warehouse inventory system.
- Receive, verify, and document incoming shipments.
- Issue materials to field personnel and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor inventory usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and excess stock.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Foremen to forecast upcoming material requirements.
- Review project drawings and material lists when necessary to assist with procurement.
- Maintain purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and vendor records.
- Assist with annual inventory counts and warehouse organization.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing or inventory management experience.
- Experience in commercial electrical construction is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical materials, conduit, wire, lighting, switchgear, panels, and associated equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and purchasing software.
- Valid driver's license required.
