American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a PA or Compact license for a night shift assignment requiring 3 years of ER experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
-
General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
-
Level II Trauma Center with pediatric ED and STEMI/Stroke certification
-
Patient ratio of 1:7
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
-
No blocked scheduling accommodated

Uses Epic charting system
-
Active PA or Compact RN license required in hand
-
Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
-
Preferred certifications: NIHSS, NRP, SANE, and TNCC
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
-
Trauma Level II experience preferred
-
Experience with a wide range of ER conditions including pediatrics, trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and respiratory care
-
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of arterial lines and central lines
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
-
Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
-
Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
-
Two valid professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Copies of certifications required for consideration

Provide comprehensive emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies

Perform procedures such as splinting, chest tube management, and procedural sedation monitoring as needed
-
Support a Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification

Navy scrub color required

Local candidates accepted at a local rate differential

Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are considered local

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off requests accepted after submission
-
PA fingerprints required and may involve travel exceeding 100 miles; must be completed within 1 week of contract signing

Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing

Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance, with up to 3 attempts allowed
