Standby driver / Charter driver
We are seeking a dependable, professional, and safety-focused Standby & Charter Bus Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for passengers. This position is responsible for operating buses on scheduled charter trips, special events, group transportation, and serving as a standby driver when additional coverage is needed.
The ideal candidate has excellent driving skills, a strong customer-service attitude, a clean driving record, and the ability to remain flexible with changing schedules and transportation needs.

Safely operate charter and transit-style buses according to company policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

Transport passengers safely, professionally, and on time.

Serve as a standby driver when regularly scheduled drivers are unavailable or additional coverage is required.

Drive charter groups to events, schools, hotels, airports, tours, sporting events, corporate functions, and other destinations.

Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.

Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly passenger area.

Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus when needed.

Provide professional and courteous customer service to passengers, clients, and company staff.

Follow assigned routes, schedules, directions, and trip instructions.

Maintain accurate trip, mileage, fuel, and other required transportation records.

Communicate promptly with dispatch or management regarding delays, traffic, accidents, vehicle issues, or other problems.

Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT and transportation regulations.

Handle unexpected schedule changes and last-minute assignments professionally.

Secure the vehicle properly when parked and maintain awareness of passenger and vehicle safety at all times.

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle being operated.

Required passenger endorsement and any other applicable endorsements.

Acceptable driving record.

Ability to pass required background checks, drug/alcohol testing, and medical/DOT requirements, where applicable.

Previous bus, transit, motorcoach, school bus, shuttle, or commercial driving experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws.

Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

Dependable, punctual, and professional.

Ability to work independently and as part of a transportation team.

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional last-minute assignments.

Ability to remain calm and professional in busy or changing situations.

Ability to sit and operate a commercial bus for extended periods.

Ability to assist passengers with boarding and exiting when necessary.

Ability to perform basic vehicle safety inspections.

Ability to work in various weather and traffic conditions.

Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively.
The schedule may vary depending on charter trips and standby coverage needs. Drivers should be prepared for flexible and variable scheduling, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and short-notice assignments.
