Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing compassionate animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy clinic. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help deliver top-tier service to our clients and their beloved pets. Responsibilities
- Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as IV catheter placement, medication administration, catheterization, and surgical assistance
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization
- Help with record keeping including updating patient files, treatment notes, and medication logs accurately
- Provide pet care by feeding, medicating, and monitoring animals’ health status
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions and answer basic questions under supervision
- Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing client check-ins when needed
- Assist with appointments and gathering patient history
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience required
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, and anatomy is highly desirable
- Experience with animal restraint techniques
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting animals (up to 35lbs unassisted) and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward animals and clients
- Familiarity with maintaining patient records and basic medical procedures such as medication preparation and administration
- Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, surgery support, and animal physiology

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
