Overview
Join our dynamic fabrication team as a Welder/Fabricator working the 2nd shift, where your skills will directly contribute to building high-quality metal structures and components. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements
- Perform welding using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Fabricate sheet metal components, ductwork, piping, and structural assemblies following detailed schematics and technical specifications
- Use rigging techniques for lifting and positioning heavy materials or assemblies during fabrication or installation
- Maintain safety protocols at all times while handling metal materials, power tools, and machinery to promote a safe working environment
Experience
- Proven experience in metal fabrication shop environments with hands-on welding experience in MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW processes
- Construction site experience preferred, including familiarity with construction practices involving ductwork, piping, or structural steel assembly
- Skilled in interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with a strong understanding of shop math and basic math principles
- Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately for quality control purposes
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools required for fabrication tasks
- Experience with rigging, pipe threading, plasma cutting, press brake operation, machining or soldering is advantageous
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding standards (AWS), ASME codes & standards, OSHA regulations or similar safety guidelines is essential
- Prior experience working with construction or manufacturing teams on projects involving assembly of fabricated components
