Job Overview
Teachers plan, organize, and implement all curricula, informal and formal assessment, and indoor/outdoor classroom environments. They will model and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students and families. This individual works closely with other teachers and the Director of Early Learning to maintain all regulatory responsibilities. The teacher meets regularly with immediate teaching team for the purpose of collaborating on curricula preparation and individual developmental goals for children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Department of Early Education & Care Teacher certification for age group of classroom.
- Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field; or evidence of working towards a degree (preferred).
- Demonstrate willingness to become familiar with state regulations, NAEYC standards, and QRIS initiative.
- Must successfully complete and maintain a suitable Background Record Check (BRC) as required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)
- Experience working with children ages birth – 5 years old preferred
- First Aid/CPR certified or willingness to become certified
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow Cape Cod Children’s Place curricula; collaborate with teaching team to adjust topics of interest to current students’ needs or development levels.
- Adhere to all regulations set by the Department of Early Education & Care; NAEYC, and maintain current level of QRIS. Maintain a professional attitude towards said regulations.
- Treat each child, family, and colleague with dignity and respect; maintain a professional attitude at all times.
- Maintain observations and anecdotal records of children’s development, especially with regard to developmental goals.
- Maintain reliable, consistent attendance.
- Maintain and log into family communication app for each student.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding students, families, colleagues, and other CCCP participants.
- Report health and safety issues to the Director of Early Learning.
- Participate in daily required housekeeping tasks for immediate classroom, including emptying of trash bins, vacuuming and mopping of floor, wiping down surfaces daily.
- Attend all scheduled monthly Teachers’ Meetings and Cape Cod Children’s Place community events.
- Maintain personal Professional Qualifications Registry.
- Assist in any activities that are needed to maintain the smooth operation of the classroom and Cape Cod Children’s Place.

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
