TYPE OF APPOINTMENT ISSUED: This position is included in the Educational Officers' Bargaining Unit and will be filled as a limited term probationary vice appointment.
A WRITTEN EXAMINATION/ASSIGNMENT MAY BE ADMINISTERED TO HELP DETERMINE POSSESSION OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES PORTIONS OF THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the Complex Area Superintendent of the Castle-Kahuku Complex, the Complex School Renewal Specialist II:
1. Assists and supports schools within the complex with the implementation of the standards-based reform. Facilitates curriculum development and implementation for schools within the complex.
2. Recognizes and acknowledges successful practices within the complex; searches for, identifies and shares successful instructional practices. Serves as an advisor/consultant, facilitator, mediator and broker for schools within the complex; facilitates articulation and cooperation.
3. Assists schools within the complex with assessment and evaluation activities; accesses relevant and applicable research information. Assists and supports schools with new teacher development.
4. Coordinates the implementation of complex-wide plans, e.g. technology plan, school-to-work initiative. Serves as a resource broker and linker to state office resources; identifies and coordinates use of resources within and among schools, complexes, district and state. Plans, coordinates and conducts staff/professional development and leadership and human resource development activities.
5. Facilitates long term strategic planning for schools within the complex. Assists, facilitates and supports schools within the complex with developing and operationalizing their vision.
6. Assists and supports schools within the complex with accreditation and the school improvement, restructuring, and renewal process. Assists and supports schools within the complex with the implementation of the comprehensive student support system.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
SALARY RANGE: EOSR-7, $113,660 to $160,893.
Department of Education certificated employees will be placed on the salary range in accordance with Department regulations.
WORK YEAR AND BENEFITS: This appointment will be on a 12-month basis with vacation and sick leave provided according to applicable regulations.

EDUCATIONAL OFFICER CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT: Priority for appointments shall be given to qualified and tenured educational officers in that class who wish to move to that position through lateral transfer or a voluntary demotion and second to all other qualified educational officers with tenure.
