High school diploma or GED (education will be verifiedusing the “Education Requirements” listed below) and six (6) months of laborexperience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. FloridaIntermediate Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification is required withinsix (6) months from date of employment.
Construction and/or maintenance experience is highlydesirable.
A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required.For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalentto a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain theState of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date ofemployment. A Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s license is required withintwelve (12) months from date of employment.
Driving Requirements:
Have not lost any driving privileges by reason ofrevocation, suspension, or denial of license, or have been convicted and/or hadan adjudication withheld of three or more moving violations or,
Have not had one DUI (Driving Under the Influence) in anypreceding twenty-four (24) month period. License suspension of two weeks orless or suspensions based only on non-moving violations that have been clearedwill not automatically result in revocation of driving privileges.
Have not had more than one DUI (conviction oradjudication withheld) in Florida or any other state within the past ten (10)years.
Education Requirements: Tobe considered valid (or verified) for position qualification purposes, andconsistent with City Hiring Policy 4-5, a High School, GED or equivalentdiploma, and all higher education degrees or certifications must have beenissued by:
a) a public education institutionin the State of Florida or any State or Territory of the United States; or
b) an institution accredited by anaccrediting organization that is recognized by the Florida Department ofEducation or the U.S. Department of Education; or
c) an institution that isaccredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for HigherEducation Accreditation (CHEA); or
d) an institution whose degree orcertification is accepted by institutions identified in either a), b), or c),above, for the purpose of admission to institutions identified in either a),b), or c) above.
International degrees will be evaluated todetermine if they satisfy qualification requirements.
