Under general supervision, sets up and operates assigned production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, leads the employees engaged in a variety of manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Will participate and lead; root-cause analysis meetings, training of new employees, track equipment down time, development of related SOP/SSOPs and line specific KPIs. Operate various types of machinery, as needed, and as described by assigned leadership.
Oversee production line by watching for equipment malfunctions or product defects, loading raw materials into equipment, unloading work in progress, or finished product and moving materials to and from the equipment.
Replace broken belts, knives, seals, gaskets, etc., as indicated by condition, malfunction, or planned replacement schedule.
Comply with organization policies including, but not limited to, safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules.
This role has the responsibility to understand and place in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
Ability to read, understand and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics in English.
Compensation/Benefits
The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.60. This role is a union role and is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week and may also be eligible for additional hourly premiums for perfect attendance and/or working evening or night shifts.
This role is eligible for benefits through the union and will include medical, dental, vision and retirement.

Work Environment
Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyors (may depend on the role).
Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
