Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Finish Blade Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, particularly finish blades, to ensure precise grading and surface finishing on various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site operations, mechanical knowledge, and experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks. The Finish Blade Operator plays a critical role in delivering high-quality results efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate finish blades and other heavy equipment including dozers, graders, loaders, backhoes, excavators, water trucks, and dump trucks to perform grading and surface finishing tasks.
- Ensure the accurate leveling and shaping of surfaces according to project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks on construction sites efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with other construction activities such as horizontal drilling, paving, or tanker operations as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment used during shifts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, graders, loaders, backhoes, excavators (including Caterpillar models), water trucks, and dump trucks.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Construction site experience with knowledge of grading, paving, horizontal drilling, and other related activities.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for operating or transporting equipment.
- Ability to operate horizontal drilling rigs and tanker trucks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety standards in construction environments.
- Prior experience with construction equipment such as graders, dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and water trucks is highly desirable.
