The Utility Billing Specialist is a detail-oriented and customer-focused role supporting the Edmunds GovTech UMBS utility billing software. This role is responsible for processing client billing data, validating account information, resolving billing discrepancies, supporting clients, and ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for utility services such as water, wastewater, recycling, waste, or municipal services. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills and be comfortable working with billing systems, financial data, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced software environment.

We rely on our Utility Billing Specialists to:
- Process and maintain utility billing usage data within the company’s software platform
- Review billing data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client requirements
- Import usage data, calculate, validate, and post utility bills within the EGT application
- Collaborate with customer support and development teams to troubleshoot billing-related system issues
- Maintain accurate billing documentation
- Support month-end and year-end billing activities and reporting
- Monitor billing workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Ensure compliance with applicable utility regulations, company policies, and data security standards

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
- 2+ years of experience in utility billing, accounts receivable, customer billing, or related operational support
- Experience working with billing software, ERP systems, or SaaS platforms
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry accuracy
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
