Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including semi trucks, flatbed trailers, 26 ft tandems, box trucks, and teledyne lifts. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, as well as stay up-to-date with DOT compliance in safety and maintenance.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and general vehicle inspections.
- Repair and fabricate parts for heavy equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and quality assurance.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Mechanic within a dealership or heavy equipment environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and suspension components.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance devices essential for repair tasks.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and electronic testing devices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
