Schedule: Friday through Monday | 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Four-Day Workweek | 12-Hour Shifts | On-Site
Job Summary
Trans 99 Logistics USA is growing, and we’re looking for a Weekend Logistics Coordinator to become a key part of our operations team in Laredo, Texas.
This is a unique four-day-per-week position designed for someone who knows transportation, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Working Friday through Monday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, you’ll support virtually every part of our operation—from load planning and customer service to driver support, local operations, inspections, transloads, and cross-dock activity.
On Fridays, you’ll work alongside our broader operations team to understand the weekend plan, identify potential challenges, and create continuity heading into Saturday and Sunday.
During the weekend, you’ll take greater ownership of the operation on-site, making decisions, adjusting plans, communicating with drivers and customers, and solving problems as they happen.
Then on Monday, you’ll reconnect with the broader team, provide a clear handoff from the weekend, address outstanding issues, and help position the operation for a successful week ahead.
If you're the kind of person who sees a problem and immediately starts working on the solution, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do
- Provide operational coverage and support Friday through Monday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
- Work directly with our operations team on Fridays to understand priorities, build weekend plans, and create a smooth handoff into the weekend.
- Coordinate with the team on Mondays to communicate weekend activity, resolve outstanding items, and help set up the operation for the week ahead.
- Monitor active shipments and ensure freight continues moving according to plan.
- Support company drivers and owner-operators throughout the weekend, including dispatch, trip planning, Hours-of-Service considerations, delays, equipment issues, and other operational needs.
- Build, adjust, and completely rework plans when circumstances change.
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding active shipments, delays, appointment changes, service concerns, and other shipment updates.
- Identify loads or trucks at risk and take action before they become larger service issues.
- Support our weekend local operation, coordinating drivers, equipment, pickups, deliveries, and priorities as required.
- Coordinate with our inspection team and inspectors supporting inbound and outbound freight to ensure inspection requirements are completed and communicated appropriately.
- Help coordinate transload and cross-dock activity, working with drivers, facilities, warehouse personnel, and other partners as required.
- Monitor inbound and outbound cross-border activity and help address issues that could disrupt the movement of freight.
- Assist with reload planning and positioning of drivers and equipment for upcoming freight.
- Maintain accurate shipment and operational information within our TMS and other systems.
- Document weekend activity, service issues, decisions, and outstanding action items so the weekday team has a clear picture when they return.
- Escalate safety, compliance, customer, or operational issues appropriately while taking ownership of issues that can be resolved directly.
- Work across planning, customer service, driver management, and local operations based on where the business needs support.
- Be a dependable point of contact for our drivers, customers, and operational partners during weekend hours.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of transportation, logistics, dispatch, fleet operations, or customer service experience preferred.
- Truckload transportation experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting drivers, dispatching freight, or coordinating active shipments is an asset.
- Familiarity with cross-border transportation between the U.S. and Mexico is a strong asset.
- Understanding of Hours-of-Service, ELDs, and basic DOT/FMCSA requirements is preferred.
- Experience with a TMS such as Trans Plus, McLeod, TMW, or similar transportation software is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating directly with professional drivers and customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisions when immediate supervision may not be available.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and rapidly adjust when the original plan changes.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable working independently while remaining connected to the broader operations team.
- Willing and able to work the full Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday schedule from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on-site.
The Person We're Looking For
You don't need to fit neatly into one operational box.
One hour you may be helping a driver work through a problem. The next, you're updating a customer on a shipment, coordinating an inspection, adjusting a local plan, or helping arrange a transload.
You need to be comfortable asking:
What needs to happen next to keep the operation moving?
We're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, stays composed when plans change, and doesn't need every situation to come with a playbook.
You should be equally comfortable following a plan and changing one when the situation requires it.
Why This Schedule Works
This position offers a consistent four-day workweek while still playing an important role in the broader Trans 99 operation.
Friday provides the opportunity to work directly with the team and build a strong weekend plan.
Saturday and Sunday give you the opportunity to take ownership and independently support the operation.
Monday brings you back together with the team to close the loop on the weekend and help start the new week successfully.
That continuity is important to us. This isn't simply a weekend monitoring position—we want someone who becomes an important part of how our operation runs.
Why Trans 99 Logistics USA?
Trans 99 Logistics is building an integrated North American transportation network with asset and brokerage operations across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Our Laredo operation is an important part of that network and continues to grow alongside our U.S. fleet and cross-border business.
Growth creates opportunity—but it also creates challenges that need capable people willing to take ownership.
If you enjoy transportation, like solving problems, and want a position where you can see the impact of your work every day, we'd like to hear from you.
Join Trans 99 Logistics USA and help keep our operation moving—seven days a week.
