Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, including patient assessment and diagnosis using medical and dental terminology.
- Deliver a wide range of dental treatments such as restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Utilize dental imaging technology and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Conduct patient consultations to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedural steps clearly and professionally.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with team members to provide Four-handed dentistry for efficient patient care delivery.
- Manage dental fabrication processes including crowns, bridges, and implants while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques such as dental implants, endodontics, and medical imaging to enhance treatment outcomes.
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare diagnosis standards and medical terminology conventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients to foster trust, address concerns, and promote oral health education.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and treatment planning.
- Strong knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with specialties including implants, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Expertise in dental diagnosis, patient care management, and client communication strategies.
- Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice environments.
- Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, and other complex procedures confidently.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records and documentation efficiently within a busy clinic setting.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as medical imaging technology and new dental materials.
