Vinny's Italian Grill and Pizzeria is currently seeking a qualified Assistant Manager for an immediate opening in Stafford, VA. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of restaurant/bar management experience and familiarity with the standards and best practices of a contemporary food and beverage operation.
This job is perfect for someone who is warm and welcoming, has a passion to expand their knowledge of food and beverage, and can develop positive relationships with guests and colleagues. The Assistant Manager assists the General Manager in handling all aspects of the operations to create and maintain a memorable experience for the guests.
DUTIES
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine, wine and craft beers, and can assist consumers in acquiring beverage selections based on their individual tastes and budget.
- Handle routine sales transactions which include operating cash register and accounting of daily bar/restaurant sales.
- Work closely and cooperatively with the General Manager to maintain a diverse, dynamic, and profitable restaurant.
- Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and purchasing.
- Support the General Manager in booking events for the Private Dining Room
- Manage the FOH staff during service periods and promote hospitality and exceptional guest experiences
- Develop strong relationships with all purveyors.
- Assist with display and stocking of retail items and wines.
- Assist with hospitality special events as needed.
- Represent Vinny's at outside functions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 year of experience in the hospitality industry and previous experience in Food and Beverage management, scheduling and staffing.
- A curiosity and enthusiasm for food, wine & beer
- Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, Microsoft Office, inventory management)
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
