Watts Specialties is seeking qualified Factory/Field Service Technician based in our Puyallup, WA facility.
Watts Specialties develops, manufactures, and supports CNC Pipe Cutting and Profiling equipment including pipe handling logistic systems. Watts Specialties operates in Washington, USA. Watts Specialties is the Industry Leader in CNC Pipe Cutting and Handling systems.
The successful applicants will support the Company by filling these job responsibilities:
- Perform startup, calibration, and testing procedures on new machines in the factory.
- Perform startup, operator training, and repair on machines in the field. Generally in the US and Canada. International travel is a possibility but not expected.
- Perform training and support for machine software program.
- Perform operation and repair on hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and CNC cutting systems.
- Maintain positive and effective interaction with customers, colleagues and vendors.
- Provide accurate records as it relates to machine service, repairs, travel, and time cards
- Adhere to company and industry safety practices
- Travel 1-2 weeks per month, Average 1 week/mo. Rotate with other Travelling Technicians to meet the field demand.
- Assist in assembly of production machines in the factory.
- Perform Customer Service / Technical Service when in the office.

Qualifications - the ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Experience in the servicing and repair of electro-mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of basic electronics, relays, switches, AC/DC power, PLC’s, computers, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, etc.
- Must be able to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Word and Excel. Solidworks or AutoCAD is a plus.
- Capable of working with limited supervision (a “self-starter”).
- Basic computer skills to perform electronic diagnostics.
- Knowledge of PLC ladder logic a plus.
- Capable of operating a Digital Multi Meter.
- Capable of using basic hand tolls, transit, laser alignment tools.
- Able to travel and perform work in the field without issue.
- Physical capabilities and dexterity are required (lifting up to 75 pounds).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Additional technical classes a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
- Good references from former employers and colleagues.
