Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process
- Restrain animals safely using appropriate techniques to facilitate grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and work areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, special instructions, and aftercare advice
- Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes at the reception area
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care roles
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods to ensure safe grooming sessions
- Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs and cats
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely (heavy lifting) when handling large pets or equipment
- Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and address their concerns confidently
