Position Overview
San Joaquin Valley Dairy Robotics Inc., dba Dairy Equipment Center is looking for a skilled Dairy Service Electrician with experience working in industrial electrical systems — especially within food-grade or dairy processing environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of PLCs, relays, control panels, VFDs, and main electrical systems. This role involves installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems tied to dairy production and processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including control panels, motor controls, and power distribution.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), timers, relays, and automation systems.
- Diagnose and repair wiring issues in compressors, pumps, valves, sensors, relays, contactors, and other process-related equipment.
- Assist in the startup and commissioning of new systems and retrofits.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Follow all safety codes, electrical regulations, and GMPs required for food-grade environments.
- Maintain accurate documentation for service calls, inspections, and installations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in a dairy or food processing setting.
- Strong understanding of PLC logic and troubleshooting (Square D, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens experience is a plus).
- Proficient in reading blueprints, electrical diagrams, and wiring schematics.
- Comfortable working with 120V to 480V systems and 3-phase power.
- Experience with control panels, VFDs, sensors, relays, and automation systems.
- Ability to work independently, respond to emergency service calls when needed, and collaborate as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
