Summary of Position
Develops new business by contacting prospects and clients and by cross-selling Bank products and services that include credit, trust/investment, and cash management. Provides research and data gathering. Understands customer needs and offers financial solutions that meet customer goals. Understands the local market and proactively develops relationships with centers of influence. Develops internal and external networks and referral sources to ensure ongoing growth. This position covers three key areas: business development and service; relationship planning and management; and risk mitigation, with a focus on the achievement of all profitability and growth targets.
Essential Functions
Develops/maintains commercial banking relationships within the Hendricks County market
- Participate in all market strategy and business development initiatives
- Partner with the banking center staff, mortgage originator, and investment representative to develop a financial plan and ensure the needs of customers are met; and fulfill personal banking needs of the business owner
- Responsible for identifying and establishing relationships with prospective business customers in order to grow portfolio and relationships through the acquisition of new customers.
- Assist market president and senior commercial banker in market development and support of current client base.
- Apply business development and relationship management principles, practices, and techniques to achieve target-level sales of commercial lending, as well as deposit products and services.
- Target new relationships with aggregate borrowing needs up to the bank's lending limit.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant course of study (accounting, finance, economics, business administration)
5 years of industry experience with emphasis on outside business development and sales
