The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is looking for a senior manager to join our highly collaborative leadership team, responsible for delivering data center related designs across AWS regions within North America. As the Sr. Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE) Manager, you will lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers. You will be responsible for the delivery of projects, applying design quality controls, and providing technical guidance to team members. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for solving for large scale implementation and capacity issues and engaging with AWS engineering community and our internal stakeholders, including procurement, construction and real estate. This role is an opportunity to cooperate with many facets of the AWS organization, external engineering resources and public regulatory agencies.
Key job responsibilities
Leading DC Infrastructure Engineering in AMER.
Develop strategic solutions which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary and redundancy requirements.
Conceives, initiates, and leads projects with widespread impact on infrastructure engineering, innovation, and implementation.
Sets the standard for engineering, test, and best practices. Drives process improvements across the organization.
Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions.
Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support our data centers.
Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
Work with local agencies having jurisdiction and certification agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.

- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or equivalent field
- Cumulative 8+ years of experience managing staff focused on mission critical infrastructure.
- 10+ years of experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility engineering.
- Professional Engineering License or Master Degree in Engineering
- Direct experience with high voltage distribution systems.
- Direct experience with chiller systems, cooling towers and factory testing protocols
- Managing experience with the construction, operation, or maintenance of data centers.
- Previous consultant and jurisdiction negotiation skills associated with construction and project execution.
- Experience with large scale technical operations or large-scale compute facilities.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
