Duties
- Operate forklifts including reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanning equipment safely and efficiently to load and unload shipments.
- Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using order picker trucks and ensuring proper storage of materials.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow warehouse safety standards in production environments, including manual handling and heavy lifting techniques, to prevent accidents.
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking, order picking, and updating stock records.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials, stacking pallets, and preparing goods for shipment or storage.
Experience
- Proven experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts (reach truck, lift truck, Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, clamp trucks, or similar machinery.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, inventory management, and order picking processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments such as OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
- Prior experience in warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and materials handling is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipment quantities; excellent attention to detail is essential.
