Lead teacher for kindergarten/1st grade (Full time) starting in Fall 2026.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate elementary Teacher to join our team. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. Your role will involve developing age-appropriate lesson plans, implementing curriculum, and fostering a love of learning in our students.
Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the kindergarten or 1st grade curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and engagement
- Utilize learning technologies to enhance instruction and student learning
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or other special needs
- Foster a love of reading and writing through literacy education activities
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students as needed
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for students
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments
- Serve as a mentor and role model for students, promoting positive behavior and social-emotional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification/license in Washington State
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of current teaching methodologies and best practices for early childhood education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create an inclusive learning environment
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children on an individual level
