Essintial is a national technology services organization delivering reliable, on-site support to businesses and residential customers. We deploy trained technicians to complete installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and technology integrations across a wide range of environments.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team working under an innovative company model. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting a wide range of IT and communication technologies for both residential and commercial environments. This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
This is a field-based role with most of your time spent on-site completing service requests, troubleshooting, and representing Essintial professionally in the community.
What You’ll Do
Technical Service & Installations (Primary Responsibilities)

Install/terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).

Set up and configure routers, Wi-Fi networks, and small business IT equipment.

Install A/V systems: TVs, monitors, conference equipment, smartboards, speakers, cameras.

Set up smart home devices: thermostats, doorbells, cameras, locks, lighting.

Support POS systems and retail hardware.

Complete troubleshooting and most jobs on a single visit.

Maintain tools, inventory, and equipment in the company vehicle.
Operational Support

Manage daily service tickets and ensure timely, professional customer interactions.

Document work accurately and uphold service-quality standards.

Coordinate with Essintial dispatch, support, and logistics teams.

Assist with improving workflows and SOPs as the service model evolves.
Marketing, Sales & Outreach

Participate in local business or community outreach as needed.

Build positive customer relationships and promote available services.

Identify potential service opportunities and referrals during site visits

Requirements:
Required Technical Skills
-
5+ years of experience in low-voltage cabling, networking, IT support, A/V installation, or similar.

Proficiency in at least three areas: networking/Wi-Fi, cabling, smart home tech, A/V installation, POS hardware.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable with ladders, power tools, and hands-on fieldwork.
Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check.

Ability to travel locally and regionally — up to 2 hours away; occasional out-of-state travel.

Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend/kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Education & Certifications:
