Fleet Maintenance Manager | Las Vegas, NV
We don't need another mechanic. We need the person every mechanic calls when they're stuck.
Travellers Autobarn is an international campervan rental company operating across the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Our fleet travels millions of miles every year.
When something breaks, we don't just repair it. We ask why it happened, how to stop it happening again, and how we can teach every branch to prevent it in the future.
We're looking for someone who thinks the same way.
This isn't a workshop foreman role.
This isn't just sitting behind a desk approving repair invoices.
This is owning the mechanical performance of an entire fleet while building the systems, training and standards that keep hundreds of campervans safely on the road.
If you enjoy solving problems, improving processes, reducing costs and making everyone around you better, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Keep the Fleet Moving.
You'll be responsible for the mechanical performance of our U.S. fleet while balancing safety, reliability and cost.
You'll:
- Diagnose vehicle faults remotely with branches and repairers across the United States.
- Approve repair estimates and purchase orders.
- Manage mechanical and accident repairs from first notification through completion.
- Develop preventative maintenance programs that reduce breakdowns.
- Recover warranty costs wherever possible.
- Monitor repair quality, costs and turnaround times.
- Investigate recurring failures and eliminate root causes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.
Build the Capability of Every Branch
One of the biggest parts of this role isn't repairing vehicles yourself.
It's helping everyone else become better.
You'll:
- Create practical repair guides, SOPs and technical documentation.
- Produce simple repair and training videos for branch teams.
- Improve and develop vehicle inspection procedures and safety check standards.
- Coach and train branch staff to confidently complete common campervan and vehicle repairs.
- Audit repair quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Continuously expand what our branches can safely complete in-house.
Improve the Fleet
You'll play a key role in how our fleet evolves.
You'll:
- Work alongside our manufacturing team to improve campervan designs.
- Provide technical input into vehicle purchasing and specifications.
- Identify smarter repair methods and more cost-effective solutions.
- Recommend improvements that reduce future maintenance costs.
- Drive continuous improvement across our maintenance systems and processes.
Build Strong Partnerships
Great fleets are built on great relationships.
You'll:
- Develop a trusted nationwide network of repairers and suppliers.
- Negotiate fair pricing and quality workmanship.
- Hold vendors accountable for quality, pricing and turnaround times.
- Build relationships that get our customers back on the road quickly.
Our Maintenance Philosophy
We're practical.
We don't outsource work just because that's how it's always been done.
Mechanics complete mechanical repairs.
Panel shops repair accident damage.
Tyre shops replace tyres.
Our branches do everything else.
One of your biggest responsibilities is helping our teams safely complete more repairs in-house through better systems, documentation and training.
Every successful repair saves money.
Every new skill increases capability.
Every improvement gets our customers back on the road faster.

You might currently be a:
- Fleet Maintenance Manager

You have:
- Strong mechanical diagnostic ability.

Who You Are
You're naturally curious.
You enjoy solving difficult problems.
You ask questions before approving expensive repairs.
You don't accept "that's how we've always done it."
You enjoy sharing knowledge.
If you discover a better repair method, your first thought is:
"How do we teach every branch to do this?"
You understand that fixing one vehicle is good.
Teaching ten branches how to fix the same problem is even better.
This Role Isn't For Everyone
We've learnt something over the years.
Technical ability gets people hired.
Ownership determines whether they succeed.
This role probably isn't for you if:
- You need someone telling you what to do every day.
- You approve repairs because it's easier than asking questions.
- You avoid difficult conversations with suppliers.
- You keep knowledge to yourself instead of helping others improve.
- You're satisfied maintaining the status quo.
But if you enjoy solving problems, building systems and making the whole business better, you'll probably love working here.
What You'll Get
- $80,000 to $100,000 base salary
- Performance bonus based on fleet reliability, cost control and operational improvements.
- Four weeks paid vacation every year.
- Access to UnitedHealthcare medical plans.
- Phone and technology provided.
- Travel benefits.
- Direct access to senior leadership.
- The opportunity to shape the future of our U.S. fleet.
As our business grows, this role will grow with it.
Why Travellers Autobarn?
We're not a corporate giant.
We're a growing international business where good ideas get implemented quickly.
If something can be done better, we expect you to tell us.
Then help make it happen.
You'll be trusted to make decisions, improve systems and leave the business better than you found it.
