Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Hair Colorist & Stylist with exceptional skills in both advanced coloring and women's haircutting. This full-service role combines creative color expertise with precision cutting to deliver complete, cohesive transformations—ideal for clients who book color + cut appointments together.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough client consultations to assess hair goals, condition, history, and lifestyle, then design customized color and cut plans.
- Perform women's haircuts (dry/wet cutting, layered looks, bobs, long layers, textured styles, etc.) as a core service, often paired with color appointments for seamless results.
- Execute double process color (global bleach + tone) for platinum, bright, or dramatic blonde transformations using damage-minimizing techniques (e.g., Olaplex).
- Deliver blonding services (with or without bleach, high-lift color, subtle brightening) to achieve soft, natural, or high-impact blondes.
- Master highlight balayage and foilyage hybrids for dimensional, sun-kissed, low-maintenance looks with face-framing brightness.
- Create vivid/fashion colors (bold neons, pastels, rainbows, multi-tones) on pre-lightened bases, including planning for vibrant, lasting results.
- Perform toners, glosses, bond-building treatments, and blowouts to finish every service.
- Maintain detailed client records (formulas, cut notes, photos) for consistent, repeatable results.
- Stay ahead of 2026+ trends in both color and cutting through ongoing education.
- Upsell retail products, treatments, and future appointments to enhance client experience and salon revenue.
- Keep workstation clean and adhere to all health/safety standards.
- Collaborate on salon photo shoots, events, and social media content.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active California Cosmetology License (required).
- 5+ years of professional experience with a strong portfolio showcasing both advanced color work (double process, blonding, balayage/foilyage, vivids) and women's haircuts (modern layers, bobs, textured styles, etc.).
- Proven expertise in color formulation, lightening, corrective color, and precision cutting on various hair types and textures.
- Portfolio or before/after photos demonstrating full transformations (color + cut combinations).
- Excellent consultation, communication, and client retention skills.
- Passion for creating cohesive, trend-forward looks that blend color and shape perfectly.
- Ability to manage longer appointments (color + cut services often 3–6 hours) in a high-volume environment.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Preferred: Certifications in Olaplex, advanced blonding, vivid brands, or cutting techniques (e.g., Vidal Sassoon, tonal cutting).
