This position will report to the: Manager – Regional Sales (SoCal DSD)

Travel Requirement: 90%-100% (Local travel)

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

This position contributes to the success of the business by serving as the primary client or account level route sales representative who is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of Evolution Fresh Products and maintains frequent interaction with the client and related personnel. The successful RSR will source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve Field Sales quotas. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, qualifying prospects and managing sales of products and services. As an RSR they will also research sales competition.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Act as main point person on all Evolution Fresh route sales and merchandising responsibilities within an assigned territory
Act as the Sales Liaison to a specific account or retailer determined by assigned territory
Work prospects through the entire sales cycle, including developing new leads, educating prospects, and turning interested shoppers into long term customers
Efficiently plan and execute projects within route according to company objectives
Develop and implement strategies for achieving and exceeding set sales targets
Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions
Carry out survey of the industry to identify trends such as price of competing products, product demand and current merchandising
Conduct strategic field sales tactics by establishing and maintaining “win-win" business relationships with supermarket personnel including Store Associates, Department Managers, Store Managers, and Regional Specialists. This includes but is not limited to: selling in secondary product displays, expanding product facings on shelf, filling distribution gaps (ACV), and optimizing product placement
Responsible for maximizing sales and customer service through effective planning, relationship building, and in-store servicing
Responsible for finding creative solutions to expand shelf space, placement of POS (signage) materials, installing glide racks, resetting displays (potentially adjusting shelves), rolling out new products, implementing secondary displays, conducting market research projects, reactivating current, and/or selling in innovation where permitted/applicable
Responsible for establishing and completing weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals to accomplish performance metrics
Act as a Brand Ambassador within assigned territory, with regular and direct interaction with consumers
Attending and participate in monthly sales meeting and quarterly Town Halls
Implement and execute business-advancing projects for all chains in the territory to increase awareness of new products, limit out of stocks, inform Produce Manager of ad specials, etc.

Daily reporting of activities through Encompass software application
The scope of the Route Sales Representative will change based on business needs and market trends
Ability to operate company equipment: including cleanliness of work environment
Pre/Post Trip Truck Inspections

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Maintains assigned accounts relative to sales volume, product distribution, space allocation and customer service
Time management and prioritization
Increases revenue by identifying sales opportunities and unmet customer needs and activating against those needs
Educates and shares promotional programs and product information with assigned accounts and to new accounts to ensure Evolution Fresh standards are achieved
Delivers product to assigned accounts with adherence to regularly scheduled delivery time windows Ensures FIFO rotation on all products within given accounts
Maintains products and equipment
Maintains regular and punctual attendance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Relevant grocery and/or sales experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:

Able to lift up to 50lbs
Physical propensity for the position, including being able to hold handheld devices, drive, stand and sit for long periods of time and lift, load, and carry heavy packages

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

4:00am - 1:00pm Monday through Friday, when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory.
