Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of practice areas, including employment, workers' compensation, insurance bad faith, personal injury law and litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and legal drafting skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a passion for delivering impactful legal solutions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis, Westlaw and NM OneSource to support case strategies across various practice areas
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, contracts, motions, and memoranda with precision and clarity
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, negotiations, and client meetings by organizing case files and evidence
- Engage in client consultations to gather information and provide preliminary legal guidance under supervision
- Support the firm’s litigation efforts by managing case documentation, tracking deadlines, and coordinating discovery processes
- Participate in negotiations on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professionalism and strategic focus
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance and advocacy effectiveness
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission or eligibility to sit for the bar exam
- Proven experience or coursework in employment law, bad faith and insurance law, and related fields is highly desirable
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for case law analysis and legal updates
- Excellent legal writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documents tailored to various audiences
- Demonstrated ability in legal drafting for contracts, pleadings, motions, or other legal instruments
- Experience with litigation support processes including discovery management and case organization
- Familiarity with legal administrative procedures within a law office setting
- Effective negotiation skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client advocacy
