Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at our Crisis Residential location in Covington County. This position operates within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, providing person-centered crisis stabilization, daily living support, and recovery-focused care for adults experiencing behavioral health challenges. In this role, you will work directly with individuals in a residential crisis setting, helping promote safety, stability, recovery, and continuity of care in a structured therapeutic environment.
Qualifications:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED

Ability to cook, clean, organize, and maintain a safe, structured environment

Ability to set and enforce appropriate behavioral expectations and boundaries
-
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Must possess maturity, confidence, and emotional stability when working with individuals in behavioral health crisis settings

Physical ability to implement Managing Crisis Safely (MCS) interventions, including lifting up to 85 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop as required to assist in consumer care during shifts

Must become Medication Assistance Certified (MAC) upon hire to assist with medications and delegated nursing tasks

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Experience in crisis services, residential behavioral health, or mental health settings preferred
Responsibilities:
-
Provide daily supervision, support, and crisis stabilization services for adults with mental health diagnoses in a residential crisis setting

Assist with transportation and access to appointments, treatment services, and community resources in Covington County

Support consumers with daily living activities including cooking, cleaning, organization, and maintaining routines that promote stability and recovery

Maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic environment that supports crisis stabilization and person-centered care

Set and enforce appropriate behavioral expectations and boundaries to maintain safety and program structure

Implement Managing Crisis Safely (MCS) interventions as necessary to ensure safety for consumers and staff

Assist with medications and other delegated nursing tasks as assigned

Collaborate with clinical staff and multidisciplinary team members to support individualized treatment goals, crisis stabilization, discharge planning, and continuity of care within the CCBHC care model

Maintain accurate documentation, professionalism, confidentiality, and a recovery-focused approach to service delivery
Work Environment:

Work directly with adults receiving behavioral health services in a residential crisis stabilization setting

Support individuals experiencing acute behavioral health challenges through structured care, therapeutic intervention, and recovery support

Engage in meaningful work that promotes stabilization, recovery, and successful transition to ongoing care
