Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform treatment strategies and ensure consistency in care
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and communication skills development
- Support teaching sessions by reinforcing positive behaviors and guiding clients through structured activities
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, care plans, and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with supervisors, educators, families, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support for each individual
- Monitor client safety during sessions, providing patient care and managing behavior management strategies as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with children with autism or developmental disabilities is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA confidentiality standards
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds in a compassionate and patient manner
- Excellent data collection skills to track progress accurately and adjust interventions accordingly
- Passion for teaching, special education, and supporting behavioral health initiatives
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in behavior management or special education are a plus
