Job Summary
This role requires a highly experienced and technically proficient individual to supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) systems primarily supporting Chemical Dispense Systems (CDS) & Waste Chemical Collection System within a Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant environment. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all E&I work related to electrical power distribution, control cabling, and instrument installation meets stringent safety, quality, schedule, and design specifications.
Responsibilities
1. Supervision and Management
- Lead and direct E&I installation contractors and technicians for all activities related to CDS projects, focusing on electrical power and control cabling installation, instrument mounting, and termination.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure strict adherence to all site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures, especially those related to electrical work and working in chemical areas.
- Monitor work progress against the project schedule, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Review and approve contractor work permits (e.g., Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space).
2. Technical Execution and Quality Control
- Oversee the physical installation of low-voltage power cables, control cables, and communication cables (e.g., Ethernet, Profibus) in accordance with P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), electrical schematics, and installation specifications. *
- Ensure proper cable routing, tray/conduit installation, glanding, termination, and labeling.
- Supervise the mounting and hook-up of field instruments (flow meters, pressure transmitters, level sensors, control valves, analyzers) used in CDS.
- Verify the quality of workmanship for all installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local codes, and company specifications (e.g., neatness of terminations, correct segregation of cable types).
- Conduct site inspections and walk-downs to verify as-built conditions against design drawings.
3. Testing and Commissioning
Witness and approve pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, including:
- Cable continuity and insulation resistance testing.
- Instrument loop checks and functional tests.
- Power-up and system integration checks with the PLC/DCS (Programmable Logic Controller/Distributed Control System).
4. Documentation and Coordination
- Maintain and manage site documentation, including red-line drawings, inspection reports, test records, and as-built mark-ups.
- Coordinate closely with other disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Process, Facility) to ensure smooth integration of E&I components.
- Liaise with the Engineering Design Team to resolve technical discrepancies or field issues.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in E&I construction supervision, commissioning, or project engineering, with at least 1 years focused on projects in Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, or High-Tech manufacturing plants.
- Specific Domain Knowledge:
- Proven experience with Electrical Power and Control Cabling Installation procedures.
- Familiarity with the installation and calibration of industrial process instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level) used in chemical or fluid handling systems.
- Understanding of hazardous location electrical requirements (e.g., Class 1, Div 2 / Zone 2) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor Chemical Delivery Systems (CDS) operations and safety protocols is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in reading P&IDs, electrical schematics, and single-line diagrams.
Pay: $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
