Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics and assisted living facilities. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. THIS IS AN IN-PERSON POSITION. PAY WILL BE DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Offer psychotherapy and counseling services to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in case management and treatment planning.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols within the clinical setting.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with psychiatric certification.
- Experience in outpatient care, home care, or assisted living settings is preferred.
- Proficiency in patient care techniques, including catheter care, tube feeding, and gastric lavage is a plus.
- Strong skills in case management and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages, including toddlers.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Knowledge of current best practices in mental health treatment and infection control measures.
