The Tow Motor Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial trucks (forklifts/tow motors) to move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility. This position supports production operations by ensuring timely material flow while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and company policies. All duties are performed in accordance with OSHA standards and applicable provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
Operate powered industrial trucks (sit-down, stand-up, or other forklift configurations as applicable) to transport materials within the facility.
Load and unload materials from trucks, racks, pallets, and production areas.
Supply production lines with required materials and remove finished goods.
Stage materials in designated warehouse or storage areas.
Inspect forklift equipment at the start of each shift and complete required safety checklists.
Report mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns immediately to supervision or maintenance.
Maintain accurate material movement documentation (scanners, inventory systems, or manual logs).
Follow all OSHA forklift operating standards and company safety policies.
Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned areas.
Comply with all applicable provisions of the UAW Local 70 collective bargaining agreement.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid forklift/tow motor certification (or ability to obtain certification upon hire).
