POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibility for the Veterans Affairs Ambassador will be to drive the strategic growth and expansion of the VA Community Care program by developing referral partnerships, strengthening community relationships, and increasing qualified veteran referrals. The Veterans Affairs Ambassador will be responsible to rapidly expand Assisting Hands services to Veterans throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
As a trusted community resource, you will develop partnerships with veteran organizations, healthcare providers, senior communities, and local agencies while helping veterans understand and access their VA Community Care home care benefits. More importantly, your work will ensure more veterans receive the care and support they have earned through their service.
This is a highly visible community-based role that combines outreach, education, relationship management, and program development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development
· Develop and maintain referral relationships with key community partners.
· Coordinate educational presentations and outreach events.
· Track referral activity and relationship management using CRM.
· Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to increase veteran awareness and access to care.
· Maintain accurate documentation and timely follow-up on all referral activity.
Veteran Advocacy & Education
· Serve as a knowledgeable resource on VA Community Care home care benefits.
· Educate veterans, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals about available services and eligibility.
· Assist veterans in understanding available resources and guide them through the Community Care process.
· Conduct intake meetings and coordinate the start of care.
· Follow veterans throughout the onboarding process to ensure an exceptional experience.
· Communicate regularly with VA teams regarding referrals, authorizations, and care coordination.
Community Outreach & Relationship Development
· Build and maintain strong relationships with organizations that serve veterans.
· Develop strategic partnerships that generate qualified veteran referrals.
· Meet regularly with referral partners to provide education, updates, and ongoing support.
· Identify new outreach opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
· Create monthly, quarterly, and annual outreach plans targeting veteran-serving organizations.
· Represent the organization as a trusted advocate for veterans throughout the community.
Community Engagement
Representing the organization at community events including:
· Veteran resource fairs
· Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies
· Military appreciation events
· Caregiver conferences and support groups
· Health fairs
· Senior living communities
· Veteran appreciation events
· Educational lunch-and-learn programs
QUALIFICATIONS
· College Degree in Business, Healthcare, Social Work, Marketing Communications, Public Health/related field, or relevant and ample work experience.
· Honorable service as a United States military veteran.
· Knowledge of VA healthcare benefits.
· Experience presenting to groups or leading educational programs.
· Passion for serving fellow veterans and their families.
· Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
· Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
· Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the community.
· Valid driver’s license.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
· Base Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 (+bonus potential)
