American Traveler is hiring an RN - Pediatrics for an outpatient Peds Nephrology clinic requiring at least 1 year of pediatric experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Outpatient clinic setting within a pediatric specialty center offering 13 specialties and 55 exam rooms
-
Peds Nephrology unit with 15 exam rooms staffed by 7 MDs and 1 APP, seeing up to 25 patients per day
-
Patient population ranges from newborn to age 18, with some patients seen through college graduation
-
Common diagnoses include pre/post kidney transplant, chronic kidney disease, adrenal diseases, osteogenesis imperfecta, and dialysis follow-up care
-
Uses EPIC EMR, with experience highly preferred
-
Utilizes Omnicell for injections and vaccines
-
Performs point-of-care testing including UA, urine spin-down and slide prep, rapid strep, and flu/COVID testing
-
Responsibilities include port access, CVL draws, patient rooming, and departure education
-
Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

No weekend rotation, on-call, or floating requirements

Active RN license (NC or compact) required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required, with most recent experience within the last year

Ambulatory clinic experience strongly preferred but not required
-
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Assist with RX refills using standing orders and support peer RNs with form completion (not expected to work in Triage)

May assist with administering vaccines and injectable/biologic medications, with training available for those interested
-
Work alongside a support team including Front Desk staff, Nurse Manager, Clinical Supervisors, Program Manager, peer RNs, MAs, on-site lab, radiology, dietician, and social worker

On-site orientation period of up to 2 weeks based on skillset and comfort level, including off-site New Employee Orientation and a 2-day Skills Optimization course

Clinic closed on major holidays

RTO requires manager approval

Navy blue scrubs required

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
