Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with a strong background/experience with business requirement testing and defect management to join our team in support of DHS. The ideal candidate will have experience in Tableau (Server/Desktop/Prep) for creating data visualizations and reports and will play a crucial role in ensuring that our data-related requirements are met and thoroughly tested.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data to identify trends and actionable insights, using statistical methods and data models to support business decisions.
- Create clear visualizations and develop reports using Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define KPIs, understand data needs, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Clean and preprocess data, handling inconsistencies and outliers using tools like SQL and Excel to prepare it for analysis.
- Stay current with the latest tools and techniques in data analysis, refining processes for better decision-making.
- Manage defects, document, and track them through the lifecycle, and create user stories and test cases following Agile practices.
- Test dashboards, reports, and data sources to ensure business requirements are met, and collaborate with product owners to ensure accurate delivery.
- Conduct functional, regression, and product owner testing to validate requirements and identify data discrepancies for resolution.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews) and collaborate with teams to align testing with sprint goals.
- Create and manage Tableau visualizations, dashboards, and data sources to provide accurate reporting and insights.
- Implement best practices to create templates and provide enhancements and modernize existing dashboard.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant data analyst experience.
- Experience as a Data Analyst in data analysis, cleaning, and reporting.
- Experience with Tableau Server/Desktop/Prep.
- Experience using python for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify data discrepancies and issues in reports and dashboards.
- Experience in defect management, user story creation, and testing, including functional qualification, regression, and user acceptance testing support.
- Ability to evaluate and validate business requirements, providing actionable feedback.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing data-driven solutions for business challenges.
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
*The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
