<Duties>
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories, to inform personalized care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management, following strict aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document care activities and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results to support clinical decision-making.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as critical care units (ICU), emergency rooms, long-term care facilities, or hospice settings, including trauma medicine and acute pain management.
- Support patient education on health coaching topics like medication administration, nutrition, wound care (including suturing), and post-discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, discharge planning, and coordination of services in outpatient clinics or inpatient units.
<Skills>
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience with specialized procedures including catheterization, ostomy care, tube feeding management, and ventilator support.
- Strong background in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or assisted living facilities.
- Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; familiarity with trauma medicine and infectious disease care is highly valued.
- Skilled in performing physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion/infusion therapy, and sterile processing techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities across geriatrics and pediatric populations.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases; experience in hospice & palliative medicine is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and patient education; ability to work under pressure in emergency room or trauma settings.
