$25 – $36 per class, depending on experience
Objective
Responsible for delivering a world‑class group fitness experience grounded in teamwork, professionalism, and outstanding customer service to our members, guests, company, and community.

Group Fitness Manager (GFM)
Criteria
-
AFAA or ACE Primary Group Exercise Certification (see Group Fitness Instructor Manual)
-
AFF‑approved specialty certification(s) for active formats (e.g., MOSSA, Zumba, Spinning, RYT200)
-
Current CPR and AED Certification
-
Proficient oral, written, and technology communication skills (email/text)
As an AFF team member, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Get & Keep Members by delivering exceptional service and fostering strong member relationships

Perform duties in alignment with the company’s Mission, Vision, Pillars of Success, Service Standards, and Business Philosophy

Provide the highest quality customer service with a welcoming, friendly, energetic, and positive attitude; use members’ names whenever possible

Follow all Service Standards, Training Manuals, Policy Manuals, and department‑specific handbooks
-
Know and follow the club’s emergency response protocol; prioritize safety and sound judgment

Arrive 10 minutes early in proper department‑specific uniform

Actively participate in department and club meetings
-
Contribute to club and organizational goals as a collaborative team member

Maintain open, honest communication with the team and partner together as fitness professionals
As a Group Fitness Instructor, additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes aligned with company and industry standards

Provide appropriate modifications for all fitness levels and ensure member safety throughout class

Maintain active, current AFF‑approved certifications; submit updated copies to the GFM

Participate in AFF‑recommended education, workshops, trainings, events, and upskilling opportunities

Arrive 10 minutes early to set up, greet participants, and prepare the class environment

Provide thorough class introductions, teach world‑class programs, and remain afterward to clean up, answer questions, and promote additional classes and club activities

Begin and end classes on time; follow scheduled formats as defined by the Group Fitness Director (GFD)

Motivate members with positive encouragement and create an enjoyable, non‑competitive environment
-
Complete all administrative tasks accurately and on time (availability updates, contact information changes, attendance numbers, etc.)

Respond within 24 hours to time‑sensitive communication from team leaders and fellow instructors
-
Follow department procedures for securing qualified substitutes and minimize unnecessary sub requests
-
You may teach at other fitness facilities; however, serving as a Manager/Coordinator or holding a leadership role at another fitness facility is grounds for termination
-
Notify the GFM of equipment needs or malfunctions
-
Wear appropriate attire that reflects a positive, professional, fit, and healthy image
-
Input and manage your weekly work schedule in the club’s scheduling platform by established deadlines, maintaining full accountability for schedule accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to club staffing need

Perform other duties as reasonably assigned
