TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer III in Byhalia, MS.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform internal audits, develop test procedures, and maintain quality documentation.
- Develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements and standards. Develop and visually analyze test procedures using and lifting test equipment.
- Work with the Purchasing Department/Supplier Quality Engineer on qualifications of new suppliers and supplier quality improvement.
- Plan and conduct tests and experiments to improve products and processes. Provide statistical analysis on the performance of new and existing designs and processes.
- Lead cross-functional teams in quality improvement initiatives, including production, design, and supply chain.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring quality planning is integrated early in the product development cycle.
- Participate in Engineering Change Order (ECO) / Manufacturing Change Order (MCO) process reviews to provide input on quality and reliability issues.
- Develop and implement Quality KPIs and monitor quality performance trends, reporting results to leadership.
- Perform root cause analysis on internal and external issues for resolution, including corrective action plans (CAPA) for factory and/or suppliers.
- Train and mentor junior quality engineers and technicians on tools, processes, and problem-solving techniques. Plan, execute, and maintain internal audit schedules and lead internal audits for ISO or industry-specific certifications.
- Manage quality documentation in accordance with document control procedures and regulatory compliance. Monitor failure trends on in-house and field failures.
- Work with plant engineering personnel to develop process control procedures.
- Support and evaluate the APQP process. Audit supplier products, manufacturing processes, and quality systems and recommend improvements.
- Support external audits conducted by various certifying bodies (i.e., ISO, ETL, UL). Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Eight years of experience in job offered or related position required.
- Five years of quality engineering experience required.
- Any experience required with: structured problem solving, including The Eight Disciplines (8D), A3, The 5 Whys, and the Fishbone; Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC); quality inspection equipment and tools (i.e., CMMs, calipers, micrometers); reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Managing customer quality concerns including warranty returns, concessions, and complaint resolution
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems (i.e., SAP, Oracle) related to quality management and nonconformance tracking; Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook; following pre-established procedures/standard operating procedures to perform job functions; and with data analysis applications (i.e., inferential statistics, quality sciences).
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field and eight years of experience, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Applied Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field and six years of the above-requested experience.
