Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization in the sushi preparation area
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders efficiently during busy service times
- Monitor food quality and presentation to meet the restaurant’s high standards
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and equipment use
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi techniques and culinary best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Passion for Japanese cuisine with a creative flair for presentation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic culinary skills complemented by enthusiasm for continuous learning in the culinary arts
