Novara Community Services LLC is seeking an experienced and compassionate bilingual physician (MD or DO) to serve as our Medical Director.
This is a unique opportunity to become a founding member of our executive leadership team and help build a growing behavioral health organization dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services throughout Florida.
The Medical Director will provide medical oversight, clinical consultation, and executive leadership while supporting the organization's compliance with all applicable Florida and federal healthcare regulations.
This position is primarily administrative and consultative and does not require maintaining a full patient caseload.
Position Summary
The Medical Director will collaborate with the Executive Director, Clinical Director, and executive leadership team to establish clinical excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the continued growth of Novara Community Services.
The ideal candidate is passionate about behavioral healthcare, enjoys leadership, and is interested in helping develop a mission-driven organization that serves diverse communities across Florida.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the Medical Director for Novara Community Services LLC.
- Provide medical oversight and clinical consultation for agency programs.
- Support compliance with Florida Medicaid requirements and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Review and approve clinical policies, protocols, and medical procedures as appropriate.
- Collaborate with executive leadership regarding clinical operations and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational development.
- Provide guidance regarding medical and behavioral health matters when needed.
- Promote high standards of patient care, ethics, and professional practice.
- Support accreditation and licensing efforts as required.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
- Active Florida Medical License (MD or DO) in good standing.
- Eligible to serve as Medical Director under Florida regulations.
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
Preferred
- Experience in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Addiction Medicine, or Behavioral Health.
- Previous experience serving as a Medical Director or healthcare executive.
- Experience working with Florida Medicaid providers.
- Knowledge of outpatient behavioral health services.
Work Schedule & Availability
- Remote position within the State of Florida.
- Approximately 8–12 hours per month, depending on organizational needs.
- Flexible schedule.
- Participation in monthly executive leadership meetings (virtual or in person).
- Availability to provide consultation to leadership as needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the agency's administrative office in Wildwood, Florida, for executive meetings, regulatory visits, accreditation surveys, or other organizational needs.
- Maintain active communication with executive leadership regarding agency operations and clinical matters.
Compensation
- Independent Contractor (1099).
- Flexible monthly commitment.
