This rewarding contract opportunity places you at the heart of educational impact, serving as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 school year in the Binghamton, NY area. In this full-time, onsite role, you’ll collaborate closely with school teams, families, and students to promote language development, communication access, and academic growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Strong understanding of accommodations and technology for Deaf/HH students
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a school setting or with K-12 student populations
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Develop individualized educational plans in collaboration with IEP teams
- Modify and adapt general education curriculum to support student comprehension
- Partner with families and staff to maximize student participation and achievement
- Facilitate access to assistive technology and support classroom integration
- Monitor student progress and document meaningful data throughout the school year
- Serve as a resource and advocate for Deaf awareness within the school community
