Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Load Planner to join our logistics team! Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed load plans using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with carriers, warehouse teams, and dispatchers via multi-line phone systems and other communication tools to schedule pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments.
- Monitor freight movements using GPS and GIS technologies to track shipments in real-time, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety standards.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, data entry, and freight information accurately within logistics platforms like AS400 and transportation management systems.
- Communicate proactively with drivers, vendors, and internal departments through phone call management, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or service enhancements within the supply chain.
- Oversee fleet management activities including dispatching, scheduling maintenance coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation planning, logistics coordination, or supply chain management.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets related to freight movement and transportation efficiency.
- Familiarity with GIS, GPS tracking systems, Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, AS400, and other logistics software tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for clear interaction with carriers, vendors, and internal teams via phone calls or written correspondence.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, multi-line phone systems, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Knowledge of freight regulations, fleet management practices, 3PL (third-party logistics), and transportation management systems is highly desirable.
