As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted partner in delivering high-quality care tailored to each person's unique needs, fostering a nurturing environment that encourages dignity and respect.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Support patients with mobility and transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer techniques to promote safety during movement.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions regularly to detect changes or concerns promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary to promote health and well-being.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in social activities or conversations to enhance mental health.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents or changes in condition for accurate record-keeping.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or aging populations such as seniors or residents in assisted living facilities.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care strategies.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, patient transfers using Hoyer lifts, and assisting with ADLs safely.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care experience are a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams or social workers.
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, home health settings, or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
