Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the culinary team with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and disposing of waste properly
- Follow food safety protocols and ensure proper handling of food items at all times
- Help with meal plating and presentation to ensure attractive and consistent dishes
- Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with setup and service as needed
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with chefs and kitchen staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Hands-on experience in food service or restaurant environments preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Strong knife skills and ability to assist with meal preparation efficiently
- Passion for culinary arts with a desire to learn and grow within the food industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
