Position Summary/Department Summary:
We are seeking an Inpatient General Surgery Social Worker to provide a range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and their families. In this role, you will work closely with a strong multidisciplinary team to support patients and families throughout their hospital experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker who enjoys a collaborative environment and is passionate about helping children and families navigate complex medical situations.
Key Responsibilities:-
Psychosocial screening and assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention

Resource information and referral, facilitation of use of hospital and community resources

Psychosocial consultation to the multidisciplinary health care team
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in social work
Experience:-
Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment as well as excellent communication and consultation skills.

Previous medical social work experience preferred

Experience with child protection and bereavement counseling helpful.
Licensure:-
State of MA LCSW, State of MA LICSW preferred
This is a 32-hour position, with four, 8 hour days 8:30a-5:00p. Coverage needs are Monday and Friday, with flexibility for scheduled day off being Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
This position is 100% onsite and is eligible for full time benefits
