Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Safety and Security Associate. This is a part time position that will average 12 to16 hours per week scheduled with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts. Shifts may range from four, six, or eight hours each, and may be split (i.e. early morning one day, evening another day). Shift opportunities are from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, seven days per week. This position requires someone who is customer focused, socially preceptive, able to make sound decisions, sometimes in stressful situations, and who has the ability to positively contribute to an anti-racist/anti-bias organization. Applicants for this role should have robust problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
Safety and Security Associates are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patrons, staff, and visitors to Children’s Theatre Company. This position plays a key customer service role, primarily at Stage Door, welcoming staff and guests and assisting visitors.
This position reports to the Facilities Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safety and Security Duties
Provide a welcoming atmosphere for all guests and staff
Complete tasks at the Stage Door to ensure efficient and productive daily operations, including but not limited to:
Receiving and distributing US mail
Receiving, signing for packages as needed, and notifying CTC staff of delivered packages
Assisting with dock deliveries (i.e. notifications, traffic control)
Assisting with summer Theatre Arts Training check-ins and check-outs
Assisting with contractor and vendor parking and notification
Monitor CTC buildings and grounds, both via security cameras and walking rounds in the building, to ensure they are safe and secure
Ensure only authorized staff, students, and visitors are permitted into the facility and all guests have signed in
Communicate with Senior Audience Experience Manager, Front of House Manager, Font of House Performance Supervisors, and Ticket Office Supervisor during performances
Resolve any security incidents, and in the events of an elevated security incident, notify the police department to ensure the safety of staff and patrons in CTC facilities
Document all significant events in daily shift reports
Be aware of all fire, safety, and access procedures and implement appropriate responses related to those situations
Project the brand image of CTC through actions and behaviors at the Stage Door and Front Lobby
Collaborate with all staff in the furtherance of CTC’s goal of being an anti-racist/anti-bias theatre that works towards Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
COMPENSATION
The starting pay for this part-time position is $17.50 per hour. Benefits include sick and safe leave and the ability to contribute to a 403(b)-retirement savings plan.
Experience
Demonstrated customer service skills including working with diverse groups of people
Previous security and safety experience preferred, but not required
Previous concierge or front desk experience preferred, but not required

Certificates & Licenses
The position is required to be certified in CPR/AED/First Aid. Training is provided for candidates who do not already possess this certification.
This position is also required to be certified in active shooter, fire evacuation, and medical situation preparedness related to safety of guests and staff. Training will be provided.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 45 minutes at a time
Ability to walk and climb stairs comfortably and for extended periods, up to 60 minutes at a time
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and more than 50 pounds with assistance occasionally
Ability to perform duties of the position in all Minnesota weather conditions
Must be able to work a wide variety of shifts including early morning, nights, and weekends
