J.C. Stanford & Son Inc. is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead field operations for our growing commercial and industrial construction company. This position will oversee multiple projects, subcontractors, and self-performing crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
We perform work throughout Florida for manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, distribution centers, food and beverage facilities, government agencies, and commercial clients. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive field experience who can manage people, solve problems, and maintain excellent client relationships.
Must have a valid drivers license, pass a drug test, and pass a background check.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all field operations across multiple active construction projects
- Direct and support project superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and company crews
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and project schedules
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, safety, quality, and productivity
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards
- Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, logistics, and project planning
- Lead weekly operations meetings and provide updates on project status
- Resolve field conflicts, unforeseen conditions, and construction challenges
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, facility managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Support estimating and preconstruction efforts when needed
- Train, mentor, and develop field personnel
Qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial or industrial construction experience
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety requirements, and project coordination
- Experience leading field personnel and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Florida as needed
