Duties
- Assist with the installation of new irrigation systems, including laying pipes, connecting controllers, and setting up automated watering schedules
- Perform routine maintenance on irrigation equipment to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably
- Troubleshoot system issues such as leaks, clogs, electrical faults, or controller malfunctions using electrical diagnostics and system troubleshooting techniques
- Repair or replace damaged components like valves, sprinkler heads, pumps, and control panels to restore optimal operation
- Conduct soil science assessments and landscape inspections to optimize irrigation performance and promote healthy turf and plant growth
- Operate hand tools, power tools, excavation equipment, and other machinery safely during installation and repair projects
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions and maintenance tips for ongoing irrigation management
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of irrigation equipment, system components, and repair techniques
- Experience with new irrigation system installation projects from start to finish
- Knowledge of landscaping principles, lawn care practices, and horticulture fundamentals
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics related to automated irrigation control systems
- Skilled in excavation work necessary for installing underground piping or drainage solutions
- Familiarity with soil science to ensure proper water absorption and plant health
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Understanding of irrigation management strategies for efficient water use and sustainability
