Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Distribution Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse activities, including order picking, materials handling, and shipping and receiving processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse operations, heavy equipment operation, and inventory management. Duties
- Operate various warehouse equipment such as, pallet jacks, and cranes to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and precise order picking using RF scanners and other inventory management tools.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities by accurately loading and unloading goods, verifying shipments against documentation, and ensuring proper storage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and updates in inventory management systems.
- Follow safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.
- Assist with order fulfillment by selecting items accurately and preparing shipments for dispatch.
- Support warehouse supervisor in coordinating daily operations, optimizing workflow, and adhering to safety regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and RF scanners for accurate stock control.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations essential for measurements, quantities, and weight assessments.
- Excellent manual handling skills with an emphasis on safety during heavy lifting tasks.
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Experience with warehouse supervisor responsibilities or leadership roles is a plus.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members across various functions.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely while maintaining productivity.
