We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Full Time Cardiovascular Stress Technician/IV/Paramedic to join our growing team in the 85006 area.
Position Summary
Cardiovascular Stress Tech/IV/Paramedic is responsible for assisting in the performance of cardiac stress tests (routine, SPECT, and PET) in our Nuclear Lab. Placing IV's successfully for Nuclear department. This role involves direct patient care, IV Placement, EKG monitoring, patient assessment, and supporting emergency procedures as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Required to start intravenous lines with a max “two sticks” aseptic technique.
- Perform stress testing protocols and interpret EKGs accurately.
- Prepare patient paperwork and verify orders, diagnoses, and insurance prior to testing.
- Conduct patient assessments and stress procedures following established guidelines.
- Monitor patients for condition changes and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Provide clear communication and support to patients and families regarding procedures.
- Collect relevant medical history and previous study results for clinical correlation.
- Submit diagnostic exams for physician interpretation.
- Practice sterile techniques and follow safety procedures for handling biohazards and radiation.
- Maintain exam rooms and medical supplies; ensure cleanliness and readiness.
- Assist with CPR and other life-saving interventions as needed.
- Comply with radiation safety standards and wear appropriate dosimeter badge.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
Qualifications
Education:
One of the following certifications is required:
- Certified Cardiovascular Technician Certification or diploma or related
- Other formal cardiac stress testing training
- EMT Certification
Experience:
- Preferred minimum of 1+ years of experience in cardiac stress testing or related field
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (must be current)
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Clinical and office settings with exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, radiation, and medical preparations
- Frequent standing, walking, and physical activity; occasional lifting to 50 lbs.
- Requires manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and full range of body motion
- May involve occasional high-stress situations
Compensation
· Full Time: Monday- Friday 09:00am- 5:00pm
- Paid Holidays: 7 holidays off per year
- Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrued in accordance with company policy
- Sick Leave: Accrued by company policy
- Medical Benefits: Eligible after 30 days of employment
- 401(k) Retirement Plan: Eligibility begins after 1 year of continuous employment, with employer match as outlined in the company plan
- Pay Range: $27-30 depending on experience
